Chris Powell: 'Ryan Giggs was born to coach'

Former Charlton manager Chris Powell believes that Manchester United interim manager Ryan Giggs was "born to coach".

Former Charlton Athletic manager Chris Powell has said that Ryan Giggs was "born to coach" following his appointment as interim manager at Manchester United.

The midfielder, who attended the same coaching course as Powell, was placed in temporary charge of the side following the dismissal of David Moyes earlier today.

Powell told BBC Radio 5 live: "He was born to coach and born to lead. He's captained the club and knows what it means to play for that club.

"I'm sure they'll go for a manager with a lot of experience but maybe he'll be part of that team moving forward."

United's defeat to Everton at the weekend officially ruled them out of the race for a place in next season's Champions League.
