Erling Braut Haaland breaks another Premier League record after scoring in Manchester City's 3-0 victory away at 10-man Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.

Erling Braut Haaland has broken another Premier League record after scoring in Manchester City's 3-0 victory away at 10-man Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday lunchtime.

The 22-year-old – who was voted the Premier League Player of the Month for August – has enjoyed an exceptional start to life with Pep Guardiola's side, netting 10 league goals in just six appearances before City's trip to Molineux.

After scoring the winner in City's Champions League victory against his former club Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday, Haaland was once again named in the starting lineup as the central striker and he was joined in attack by England duo Phil Foden and Jack Grealish, who also got their names on the scoresheet.

The latter of whom opened the scoring for the Citizens with his first strike of the season after just 55 seconds when he got onto the end of a low Kevin De Bruyne cross to poke home inside the six-yard box, before Haaland would then double City's lead in the 16th minute.

After receiving the ball in a central area from Bernardo Silva, Haaland drove at Wolves' backline before unleashing a right-footed strike beyond Jose Sa into the bottom-left corner.

Wolves were then reduced to 10 men just after the half-hour mark after Nathan Collins recklessly flew into Grealish with his studs showing and caught the City attacker in his midriff.

City were dominant throughout the contest and they sealed all three points in the 69th with another low cross from De Bruyne picking out Foden this time, who neatly flicked the ball past Sa.

Haaland's goal against Wolves is his 11th in the Premier League this season, and he has now become the first player in the competition's history to score in each of his first four away games.

Prior to the win at Molineux, Haaland became the first player in Premier League history to score nine times in his opening five games, surpassing the previous record of eight strikes by Micky Quinn and Citizens legend Sergio Aguero.

During the same period, the Norwegian also scored back-to-back hat-tricks in home victories against Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest, comfortably breaking the previous record held by Demba Ba who netted his first two top-flight hat-tricks in 21 games.

Haaland's remarkable form in front of goal sees him sit five goals clear of Fulham's Aleksandar Mitrovic at the top of the Premier League scoring charts, and he is sure to have the all-time Golden Boot record in his sights this term.

Liverpool's Mohamed Salah currently holds the record in a 38-game season with 32 strikes during the 2017-18 campaign, while English duo Andy Cole and Alan Shearer both scored 34 times in 42-game seasons back in 1993-94 and 1994-95 respectively.

Should Haaland maintain his impressive strike rate of 1.86 goals per match as well as his game time, City's No.9 would be on course to score a mind-boggling 102 goals across all competitions this season.

Man City have now moved to the top of the Premier League table after their win over Wolves, but they may not head into the international break at the summit as Arsenal are still to play away at Brentford on Sunday.
