Jordon Ibe likens Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe to Brendan Rodgers

Jordon Ibe likens Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe to his former Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers following his £15m transfer.

Jordon Ibe has revealed that he was convinced to join Bournemouth from Liverpool because of Eddie Howe's style of play.

The England Under-21 international likened his new manager to Brendan Rodgers, whom Ibe played under for three-and-a-half years before the Irishman was sacked by Liverpool in October.

Ibe, who joined the Reds' youth setup in 2012, completed a £15m move to the south coast on Thursday after failing to secure a regular starting spot in Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool team last season.

"The team play the same style of football as Brendan Rodgers used to play at Liverpool, which is something that I like," Ibe told the club's official website.

"I've enjoyed [being at Liverpool] thoroughly and I have to thank Frank McParland and Alex Inglethorpe from the youth team. They helped and developed me from the Under-16s to the first team, but this is a great opportunity for me to take another step in my career and develop as a player."

Ibe made 41 appearances for the Reds last season.
