Leeds United bring in Adam Forshaw from Middlesbrough

Leeds United sign Adam Forshaw from Middlesbrough in a £4.5m transfer, handing the midfielder a four-and-a-half-year contract.

Leeds United have signed midfielder Adam Forshaw from Championship rivals Middlesbrough in a £4.5m transfer.

The Whites have seen off reported competition from fellow second-tier clubs to land the 26-year-old, who made 103 appearances in a Boro shirt.

Forshaw, used 14 times by the Smoggies this term, has penned a long-term deal at Elland Road that will keep him tied down until the summer of 2022.

Former Everton academy prospect Forshaw has also spent time with Brentford, being crowned League One Player of the Year in 2014 before moving on to Wigan Athletic and then Middlesbrough, where he has spent the last three years.

Leeds have also brought in Belgian left-back Laurens De Bock, Aapo Halme and Yosuke Ideguchi this month.
