How England could line up against Belgium

Sports Mole looks at how England could line up in Sunday's UEFA Nations League clash with Belgium.

England will be looking to move to the top of their UEFA Nations League group when they continue their 2020-21 campaign at home to Belgium on Sunday night.

The Three Lions are currently second in Group 2 of League A, two points behind leaders Belgium, having picked up four points from their two matches in the section thus far.

Gareth Southgate's side will enter this weekend's contest off the back of a 3-0 victory over Wales on Wednesday, where Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Conor Coady and Danny Ings all scored their first England goals.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how the home side could line up at Wembley Stadium.

POSS ENG XI vs. BEL

Southgate will ring the changes from the Wales match on Wednesday, with potentially only Joe Gomez and Kieran Trippier keeping their positions in the starting XI for Sunday's contest.

Calvert-Lewin, Ings and Jack Grealish all impressed against Ryan Giggs's side, but Harry Kane and Marcus Rashford will be back in the side, while there should also be a return for Jadon Sancho, who did not feature against Wales after breaching coronavirus regulations by attending Tammy Abraham's birthday gathering.

Abraham is also now available, but Ben Chilwell will miss out through illness, meaning that Trippier could feature as the left-sided wing-back, with Trent Alexander-Arnold, Harry Maguire and Eric Dier making up the defence.

Jordan Pickford is also in line to return between the sticks, while Jordan Henderson could join Declan Rice in the middle of the park despite the fact that the Liverpool captain has not played since September 20 due to injury.

A back three does appear to be Southgate's preference moving forward, and it would be a surprise if either Coady or Michael Keane started despite their impressive displays against Wales.

Arguably the only real question mark surrounds the left-sided wing-back spot, with Bukayo Saka and Ainsley Maitland-Niles also options in that area of the field, but Trippier sported the captain's armband against Wales, which is an indication of his standing in the squad under Southgate.

Raheem Sterling, meanwhile, is absent from the Three Lions squad through injury.
