How Belgium could line up against England

Sports Mole looks at how Belgium could line up in Sunday's UEFA Nations League clash with England.

Belgium will be looking to extend their advantage at the top of their UEFA Nations League group when they travel to Wembley Stadium to face England on Sunday evening.

Roberto Martinez's side have beaten Denmark and Iceland in their two fixtures in Group 2 of League A to sit at the top of the section, two points clear of second-placed England.

The Red Devils will enter the match off the back of a 1-1 draw with the Ivory Coast in an international friendly on Thursday night, but they have won 12 of their last 13 games during an excellent run.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Belgium could line up against Gareth Southgate's team.

POSS BEL XI vs. ENG

Martinez was unable to call up the likes of Thorgan Hazard and Dries Mertens through injury, while Belgium lost their number one goalkeeper earlier this week, with Real Madrid's Thibaut Courtois being forced to leave the camp after a medical check ruled him unfit to feature.

Eden Hazard was named in the initial selection despite his injury problems this season, but it seems unlikely that the attacker will be involved at Wembley this weekend.

Jeremy Doku has scored once in his three appearances for the national side, and the 18-year-old could be handed another start here, while Brighton & Hove Albion's Leandro Trossard is also pushing for a spot in the XI.

Romelu Lukaku is Belgium's all-time top scorer with 52, and the Inter Milan striker will lead the away side's line this weekend, having been rested for the clash with the Ivory Coast.

A back three should include Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen, while Manchester City's Kevin De Bruyne is expected to line up in central midfield alongside the more defensive Axel Witsel.

Jason Denayer is also expected to be handed a starting role, while Leicester City's Youri Tielemans is pushing for a spot in the XI against the Three Lions.
