Team News: Miranda returns to Atletico Madrid defence for Villarreal visit

Brazilian centre-back Miranda returns to the Atletico Madrid starting lineup for Sunday's match against Villarreal after over a month out with a hamstring injury.

Miranda is back in the Atletico Madrid starting XI for this evening's visit of Villarreal in La Liga.

The Brazilian central defender hasn't played for Atletico for over a month because of a hamstring injury and replaces Jose Gimenez at the back.

His return is one of two changes made by Diego Simeone from the goalless draw with Juventus in the Champions League in midweek. Tiago also comes back in for Mario Suarez.

Villarreal go with the same starting lineup from their last league game - a 4-0 win over Real Sociedad - but there are five changes to the side that played on Thursday night in the Europa League.

Atletico: Moya; Juanfran, Miranda, Godin, Siqueira; Koke, Tiago, Gabi, Arda; Raul Garcia, Mandzukic
Subs: Oblak, Gamez, Gimenez, Suarez, Rodriguez, Griezmann, Cerci

Villarreal: Asenjo; Mario, Gabriel, V. Ruiz, J. Costa; J. Dos Santos, Bruno, Trigueros, Cheryshev; Uche, Vietto
Subs: Carlos, Dorado, Rukavina, Marin, Pina, Gomez, Moreno
