Arsenal 'furious with Mesut Ozil over outburst'

Mesut Ozil has angered Arsenal by publicly defending his decision to refuse a pay cut amid the coronavirus pandemic, according to a report.

Mesut Ozil has reportedly infuriated Arsenal with his recent comments on his game time and the pay situation at the Emirates Stadium.

The former Real Madrid man delivered an impassioned speech regarding his recent troubles in North London, having refused to join his teammates in taking a 12.5% pay cut amid the coronavirus pandemic.

In the wake of 55 staff being made redundant by Arsenal, Ozil has defended his decision to refuse a wage decrease, and the German has hinted that his stance could have been a contributing factor to his lack of game time since the restart.

Nevertheless, the Daily Mail claims that Arsenal have been angered by the midfielder's recent outburst, with Ozil's future at the Emirates Stadium having been called into question on several occasions this season.

Ozil did not play a single minute of football following the restart of the 2019-20 campaign, although the playmaker has announced his desire to see out the final year of his £350,000-a-week Arsenal contract regardless.
