West Bromwich Albion announce that head coach Alan Pardew has left the club by mutual consent.

West Bromwich Albion have announced that head coach Alan Pardew has left the club by mutual consent.

Saturday's 2-1 defeat to Burnley at The Hawthorns was West Brom's ninth setback in a row in all competitions, while the Baggies currently sit 10 points adrift at the bottom of the Premier League table.

With relegation to the Championship becoming increasingly likely, the club and Pardew have held talks over the weekend and opted to part ways with six games of the current campaign remaining.

A statement read: "West Bromwich Albion and Alan Pardew have agreed to mutually part company today following discussions between both parties. Assistant head coach John Carver will also be leaving.

"The club would like to thank Alan and John for their efforts and wish them well in their future endeavours. First-team coach Darren Moore has been placed in charge of first team affairs until further notice."

Pardew leaves West Brom having recorded just three wins and five draws from 21 matches in all competitions.
