Heerenveen held to draw by Vitesse

Vitesse and Heerenveen play out a 1-1 draw at GelreDome in the Eredivise.

Heerenveen have been held to a 1-1 Eredivisie draw by lowly Vitesse this evening at the GelreDome.

The visiting side started brightly, but it was Peter Bosz's charges who took the lead when Mark Uth found the net on 23 minutes.

Davy Propper levelled things up just short of the half-hour mark, and he almost added a second shortly after following some good play down the left side from the Vitas, but he could not find a way through.

Vitesse came out strong in the second half in search of a winner, with substitute Renato Ibarra's crossing into the box in particular causing problems for Heerenveen.

Neither side could add to the scoring, however, meaning that Vitesse remain in the drop zone, while Heerenveen move to fourth in the table.
