Francesco Guidolin: 'Swansea City one win from safety'

Swansea manager Francesco Guidolin claims that his side need just three more points to ensure their Premier League status for another season.

Swansea City manager Francesco Guidolin has said that three more points will guarantee his side's Premier League status for another season.

The Swans have lost just three of their 11 games since Guidolin was confirmed as manager to climb away from the bottom three up to 15th place.

They came from two goals down to rescue a point away to Stoke City this afternoon and stay 10 clear of the drop zone, and with the 40-point mark now just one win away, Guidolin believes that his side are close to crossing the line.

Asked whether he thought his side were safe, Guidolin told reporters: "No. I think we need three points. I asked after our match about Sunderland and saw their result.

"The season is not finished - for us or any of the teams. It is important to play in the future, like next week for example, with this character and courage.

"It was a good transformation in the second half, but I saw my team play well in the first half as well. My team played with personality, and I am happy."

Swansea's next match sees them host Chelsea at the Liberty Stadium.
