Half-Time Report: Bournemouth go two up against Sheffield Wednesday at the break

Goals from Matt Richie and Lewis Grabban give Bournemouth a 2-0 lead going into the break in their game against Sheffield Wednesday.

Goals from Matt Richie and Lewis Grabban gave Bournemouth a 2-0 lead going into the break in their game against Sheffield Wednesday.

Jacques Maghoma fired over the bar early on for Wednesday before Andrew Surman teed up Matt Richie to score from 20 yards.

Surman was again involved when he jinked past a couple of defenders before his drive was tipped past the post by Owls keeper Damian Martinez.

Elliott Ward then missed a good chance to double Bournemouth's lead when his header from Richie's corner went just wide.

They didn't have to wait long for another goal, however, with Lewis Grabban extending the Cherrie's lead when he beat Martinez at his near post.

Wednesday's response came in the form of Jermaine Johnson and Atdhe Nuhiu, but neither could put their efforts past Bournemouth keeper Lee Camp.
