Javi Guerra secures victory for Real Valladolid

Javi Guerra scores the only goal of the game as Real Valladolid secure a 1-0 win over Deportivo La Coruna in La Liga.

Javi Guerra's second-half strike has given Real Valladolid a 1-0 victory over relegation-threatened Deportivo La Coruna in La Liga.

Valladolid looked the more dangerous of the two sides in the early stages, with Oscar missing the target from inside the box after bursting through the Deportivo defence.

The hosts continued to threaten the Deportivo goal but wasted a big chance when Patrick Ebert headed Daniel Larsson's cross wide.

Valladolid were made to wait until just after the break to open the scoring as Ebert delivered an inviting cross to allow Guerra to convert from close range.

Guerra's goal sparked a response from Deportivo but the visitors lacked creativity in attacking areas, with Riki's wayward header the closest they came to snatching an equaliser.
