Half-Time Report: Nicky Law brings Rangers level after early scare

Rangers are level at half time with Stenhousemuir after falling behind early.

Nicky Law has brought Rangers back on terms with Stenhousemuir with the Scottish League One leaders having trailed for much of the first half, despite having the better of the attacking opportunities.

The Blues, who have won all but one of their 24 league games before today, were almost ahead inside six minutes when defender Emilson Cribari's header rattled the crossbar.

Ally McCoist's side were on the front foot and continued to threaten the Stenhousemuir goal, with David Templeton seeing his right-footed effort from distance go just over.

But, despite the hosts' early venture, it was the visitors who took the lead when Sean Dickson latched onto Nicky Devlin's cross to divert the ball beyond Cammy Bell and shocking the expectant Ibrox crowd.

However, Rangers were quickly back on the attack as Lee Wallace saw his effort blocked, before Law's shot trickled just wide of the post.

Templeton again went close midway through the half as his close-range attempt was only just wide of Chris Smith's post.

Smith was on hand to keep the visitors ahead when he kept out Andy Little's goal-bound shot.

But he was unable to keep out Law on 36 minutes when the midfielder tucked home Templeton's pinpoint cross.

McCoist's team didn't relax and were almost ahead before the interval when Little struck the bar with a long-range effort that had the Stenny keeper beaten.
