Middlesbrough boss Aitor Karanka: 'Adama Traore has massive potential'

Middlesbrough boss Aitor Karanka says that Adama Traore has potential to become an "amazing player" if he grasps a better understanding of the team.

Middlesbrough boss Aitor Karanka has predicted that Adama Traore will be an "amazing" player once he has a better tactical understanding.

The 20-year-old impressed when he made his first Premier League start against Arsenal last weekend in a match that ended in a goalless draw.

"He has massive potential," Sky Sports News quotes Karanka as saying. "He needs to learn tactically but he's ready to learn.

"I said before the Arsenal game that Adama can bring us the pace we didn't have. In the Premier League you need players like him.

"It's more about him understanding that he's come into a really organised team. He needs to understand everything. When he does he will be an amazing player."

Boro, who have claimed just one Premier League win this season, will take on Bournemouth this weekend.
