Bayer Leverkusen chief executive Fernando Carro dismisses the possibility of Kai Havertz's asking price being reduced due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Chief executive Fernando Carro has suggested that Bayer Leverkusen will still receive their asking price for Kai Havertz.

Despite his status as star man at the Bundesliga outfit, it has been widely reported that the playmaker will likely be sold during the next transfer window.

Manager Peter Bosz has previously claimed that any interested clubs, which are said to include Liverpool, will have to pay in the region of £90m.

Although the coronavirus pandemic could lead to a significant drop in the amount of money being exchanged in the transfer market, Carro feels that the 20-year-old will still attract offers of the same price.

Carro told Sky Deutschland: "Kai is a top player. Top players remain valuable because there are not many of them.

"I assume that the market value losses will not be reflected in the transfer fees for top players."

Havertz has contributed nine goals and seven assists from 30 outings in the Bundesliga and Europe this season.
