Everton injury, suspension list ahead of their first game back

Sports Mole rounds up Everton's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their first match back after lockdown, expected to be a Merseyside derby with Liverpool.

Everton are scheduled to return to action after the enforced break with a mouth-watering Merseyside derby with Liverpool.

While a venue is yet to be confirmed for the clash, which will be staged behind closed doors, it represents the ideal encounter for the Toffees to rediscover some form.

Before England's top flight was suspended, Carlo Ancelotti witnessed his side record just one point from three games, resulting in the club dropping down to 12th position in the standings.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Everton's injury and suspension news ahead of facing their rivals, the league leaders, in just over two weeks' time.

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: June 20 (vs. Liverpool)

Although he sustained a knee injury before football was brought to a halt, Morgan Schneiderlin revealed in April that he had been allowed to step up his rehabilitation. However, it would come as a surprise if the Frenchman featured in the squad for Everton's comeback game.

Type of injury: Achilles
Possible return date: Unknown

Having been closing in on a return to action after one significant injury this season, Jean-Philippe Gbamin has sustained another, this time to his Achilles. The summer signing is expected to miss the rest of 2020.

Yerry Mina

Everton were handed a blow earlier this week after it was revealed that Yerry Mina had sustained a thigh injury. The Colombia international is expected to be sidelined for a number of weeks, keeping him out of the Merseyside derby.
