Brian McDermott: 'No contact with Massimo Cellino'

Following his side's 2-1 win at Yeovil Town, Leeds United manager Brian McDermott claims that he has yet to speak to the club's potential buyer Massimo Cellino.

Leeds United manager Brian McDermott has claimed that he has yet to speak to the club's potential buyer Massimo Cellino.

The Miami-based businessman reportedly ordered the sacking of McDermott eight days ago, resulting in the former Reading boss missing last Saturday's 5-1 win over Huddersfield Town.

However, McDermott made his return to the Leeds dugout earlier today, guiding his side to a 2-1 victory at Yeovil Town.

Speaking after the match at Huish Park, McDermott said: "I have not had any contact with Cellino.

"The only thing that matters to the new owner is that we've won and I know that we have that common ground that we need to get Leeds back to the place where they belong - we need to stabilise this club.

"All I can do is concentrate on the players and the staff and it's important to have everyone going in the right direction. The adversity has bonded the players, we've got that bond and we'll need that going forwards."

Leeds took 2,053 fans to Yeovil and McDermott described the club's supporters as "absolutely fantastic".
