Mark Lillis: 'I don't want to be Huddersfield Town manager'

Huddersfield Town caretaker manager Mark Lillis insists that he has no interest in taking the job on a full-time basis.

Mark Lillis has insisted that he has no interest in becoming Huddersfield Town manager after beginning his short-term reign with a victory on Tuesday night.

The caretaker boss guided the Terriers to their first win of the season by beating Reading 2-1 at the Madejski Stadium, but he claims that he is preparing to return to his role with the academy.

"No, I don't want the job," Lillis told reporters. "I'm the academy manager. I've been doing it for two-and-a-half years now.

"Ok, when you get nights like tonight, you get that little buzz again, and you think, 'You know what, I wouldn't mind a bit of this'.

"I'm just so pleased that we as a club have moved on tonight. We needed those points on the table especially after our first two league defeats of the season."

Huddersfield host unbeaten Charlton Athletic on Saturday afternoon.
