Late Isaac Cuenca penalty rescues a point for Deportivo La Coruna

Deportivo La Coruna rescue a late point against travelling Rayo Vallecano in La Liga thanks to a last-gasp penalty from Isaac Cuenca.

Isaac Cuenca's last-minute penalty has cancelled out two goals either side of half time from Alberto Bueno, as Deportivo La Coruna snatched a 2-2 draw with Rayo Vallecano in La Liga this evening.

The hosts started the game strongly and they made inroads after seven minutes when Jose Rodríguez fired past Cristian Alvarez and into the bottom corner.

Cuenca should have put Deportivo two ahead, but he somehow slashed high and wide with a wild shot inside the box.

Rayo made them pay for the miss just before half time, as Bueno latched on to Javier Aquino's cross to head past a helpless German Lux in the home goal.

Aquino was productive again after the break as he teed up former Manchester United man Manucho, but he headed over the bar from inside the box.

The away side continued to press in hope of a goal that could earn a comeback win and they found it in the 73rd minute, as Bueno completed a brace with a finish from close range.

However, Abdoulaye Ba produced a handball in his own box with seconds left to play, leaving Cuenca to step up and seal a rather lucky point from the penalty spot.
