Deportivo La Coruna beat Espanyol

Deportivo La Coruna defeat Espanyol 2-0 at the Riazor in La Liga this afternoon.

Deportivo La Coruna have beaten Espanyol 2-0 at the Riazor in La Liga this afternoon.

Bruno Gama and Nelson Oliveira scored the goals that gave the home side the points.

Juan Dominguez had a decent attempt for the home side 20 minutes in, but his shot rose just above the Espanyol bar.

Two minutes before the break Christian Stuani had the best chance for the visitors, but his close-range header was too high.

Gama gave his side the lead after 50 minutes when he hit a curling drive from outside the area beyond Espanyol stopper Cristian Alvarez.

Oliveira added the second deep into stoppage time with a low shot into Alvarez's corner.
