Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Chelsea could line up for Sunday's Premier League clash with Manchester City.

Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez is expected to be passed fit for Sunday's Premier League showdown with Manchester City at Stamford Bridge.

The Argentine midfielder felt the full force of a shocking challenge from compatriot Cristian Romero in Monday's 4-1 beating of Tottenham Hotspur, and he eventually had to come off just before the hour mark.

After seemingly missing training earlier this week, though, Fernandez was seen being put through his paces at Cobham on Thursday, allowing Blues fans to breathe a sigh of relief as he prepares to take his place in the engine room.

Albanian attacker Armando Broja could also recover from his knee injury in time to make the bench, but Wesley Fofana (knee), Ben Chilwell (thigh), Romeo Lavia (ankle), Christopher Nkunku (knee), Trevoh Chalobah (thigh) and Carney Chukwuemeka (knee) are all absent.

Despite leaving it late to make their two extra men count against Spurs, Mauricio Pochettino ought to field an unaltered lineup on Sunday, as Axel Disasi and Thiago Silva form the protective shield in front of Robert Sanchez.

Reece James rejected the chance to play for England this month as he prioritises making a full recovery from his hamstring issue, but there is nothing to suggest that the Blues captain will not be present on Sunday, where his compatriot Levi Colwill should line up at left-back.

Fernandez's return to fitness would allow Pochettino to deploy the Argentine alongside Conor Gallagher and Moises Caicedo in a recognisable engine room, while Raheem Sterling and Cole Palmer will reunite with their former club in the final third.

Sterling has more than one incentive to perform after his latest England snub, while number nine Nicolas Jackson will aim to build on his second-half hat-trick in the trouncing of Tottenham.

Chelsea possible starting lineup: Sanchez; James, Disasi, Silva, Colwill; Caicedo, Fernandez; Palmer, Gallagher, Sterling; Jackson
