Salomon Kalou: Chelsea can win the treble

Chelsea forward Salomon Kalou says that the Blues can win the treble under new manager Andre Villas-Boas.

Chelsea forward Salomon Kalou has said that he believes the Blues can win the treble under new manager Andre Villas-Boas.

The Ivorian was linked with an exit from Stamford Bridge following the arrival of Fernando Torres in January, but insists that competition for places is positive for the club.

"I like to have a challenge," he told Citi FM. "It is part of the game and when you play in a big club like Chelsea, of course, we will get challenged. Everybody has to fight to play and I am ready to fight."

While the Blues finished last season without silverware, the 25-year-old remains confident ahead of the new campaign.

"It's going to be really competitive and we [are] looking to win back the Premier League, the FA Cup and possibly win the Champions League for the first time," he added.

"It won't be easy, but we know we have the team and players to go back and win the trophy so we are confident about it.

"The desire and hunger is still there. We have good professionals in the team, good experience and people are hungry to win because it was not so good for everyone at Chelsea last season."

Kalou has made 144 appearances for Chelsea in five seasons at the club, scoring 35 goals.
