Burton Albion go top with Millwall win

Burton Albion climb to the top of League One as goals from Damian McCrory and Abdenasser El Khayati give them a 2-1 win over Millwall.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's Burton Albion moved to the top of League One with a 2-1 win over Millwall at the Pirelli Stadium this evening.

Tom Naylor fired narrowly over the top inside the opening five minutes as the hosts, who have now won their last three in the league, started brightly.

However, the Brewers had to wait until the 35th minute to take the lead, with Damian McCrory striking from a well-worked free kick.

Abdenasser El Khayati then doubled the lead with a powerful strike just before the break.

The Dutch striker, who was lively throughout, almost put the game to bed with a smart free kick on 69 minutes, but his effort flew just wide.

Joe Martin pulled one back for the visitors 15 minutes from time, but Hasselbaink's side held on for the win.
