Sports Mole casts an eye over Brighton's home match against Sheffield Wednesday on Friday night.

Brighton & Hove Albion and Sheffield Wednesday head into Friday's encounter at the Amex Stadium with identical records.

Both have won two, drawn one and lost one of their opening four matches of the new Championship season.

As a result, the two clubs will start this encounter within the playoffs.

The hosting Seagulls are currently unbeaten at home, with the most impressive result coming in a 5-1 victory over Barnsley last month.

In Craig Mackail-Smith they have the joint leading goalscorer in the division. The former Peterborough United frontman has four goals to his name already.

Meanwhile, Wednesday have not fared too well on the road so far this campaign, having failed to pick up a victory from their two matches.

A victory for either side will see them go top of the Championship table.
