Half-Time Report: Borussia Dortmund waiting for breakthrough against SC Paderborn

Borussia Dortmund miss a number of promising chances in a goalless first half against SC Paderborn.

Borussia Dortmund have failed to make a breakthrough this afternoon, despite dominating a goalless first half against SC Paderborn at Signal Iduna Park.

It was a bright start from the hosts as Matthias Ginter tried his luck from distance with a powerful strike which forced Lukas Kruse into a good save.

Dortmund continued to apply most of the pressure as they went in search of a breakthrough, but a promising move broke down when Rafa dispossessed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as he prepared to unleash his shot in the box.

The Gabon international threatened once again a few moments later with a clever piece of skill to earn space before firing an effort over the crossbar.

Paderborn improved as the first half progressed, but the visiting defence were left breathing a huge sigh of relief when a poor touch from Aubameyang prevented him from adding the finishing touch after an inch-perfect delivery from Ilkay Gundogan.
