Blackburn Rovers midfielder Morten Gamst Pedersen remains committed to the club despite comments from global advisor Shebby Singh.

Blackburn Rovers midfielder Morten Gamst Pedersen has insisted that he remains committed to the club despite comments from the owners.

Rovers' global advisor Shebby Singh launched a scathing attack on the long-serving midfielder, slamming him for "not contributing" to the team and labelling him a "pensioner".

Pedersen responded with the winning goal in his side's 2-1 win over Leicester City on Saturday, celebrating with a walking stick to mock Singh's comments.

"It was a good celebration. When I arrived at Ipswich for the opening game, the walking stick was hanging on my peg in the dressing room! I can't control what people are saying. But if I have a problem with someone, I will go and see them and sort it that way. It is easier than doing it through the media," said the 30-year-old.

"I am not going to say all my thoughts because I think that is between me, the management and the owners. I try to keep things away from the media in that way. Of course I read newspapers, people talk to me and you hear things. Sometimes you are wondering what is going on.

"But Sunday is eight years since I signed for Rovers. I said earlier I am committed to Blackburn. I was one of the first people to say this. I have had offers to leave before but I have stayed. The main thing is to get back to the Premier League. That is where we want to be."

Pedersen has made 317 appearances for the club since joining in 2004, scoring 47 goals.
