Sports Mole looks at how Barcelona could line up in Saturday's La Liga clash with Valencia.

Barcelona boss Xavi will make changes to his starting side for Saturday's La Liga contest with Valencia.

The Catalan outfit will enter the match off the back of a 3-0 defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League, but their last-16 hopes had been ended ahead of kickoff due to Inter Milan's win over Viktoria Plzen.

Memphis Depay is close to returning from a hamstring problem, but the Netherlands international will again miss out here, while Ronald Araujo (thigh) and Sergi Roberto (shoulder) are definite absentees.

Andreas Christensen was thought to have a chance of recovering from an ankle injury in time for the contest, but he has also been left out of the squad.

Barcelona did not suffer any fresh fitness issues against Bayern, but there will be alterations from that match, with Eric Garcia, Ansu Fati and Gavi all likely to return to the XI.

Garcia could replace Marcos Alonso to start alongside Jules Kounde in the middle of the defence, with Alejandro Balde keeping hold of his spot at left-back.

Gavi, meanwhile, is likely to return to the midfield, with Frenkie de Jong potentially keeping hold of his position, which might see Sergio Busquets and Franck Kessie drop to the bench.

Pedri should also drop from an attacking position to central midfield, which would open up space for Fati to join Robert Lewandowski and Ousmane Dembele in the final third of the field.

Barcelona possible starting lineup: Ter Stegen; Bellerin, Kounde, E Garcia, Balde; Gavi, De Jong, Pedri; Dembele, Lewandowski, Fati
