Barcelona may reportedly have to make do without the injured Sergi Roberto for both legs of their Champions League last-16 tie with Paris Saint-Germain.

Barcelona could reportedly be forced to make do without the versatile Sergi Roberto for both legs of their Champions League last-16 clash with Paris Saint-Germain.

The right-back recently returned from a long-term layoff against Athletic Bilbao and made his first start in over two months against Granada in the Copa del Rey on Wednesday evening.

However, Roberto only lasted 57 minutes of that tie before being forced off once again, sparking more fears of another serious injury to the 28-year-old, who also contracted coronavirus while on the sidelines.

The Blaugrana have since confirmed that Roberto has suffered an injury to his thigh, and according to TV3, he may not play a part in either leg of the Champions League battle with PSG.

Barcelona did not put a timeframe on the defender's return to action, but the report speculates that he could be out of action for the next six weeks, meaning he would miss the February 16 tie at Camp Nou and the trip to the Parc des Princes on March 10.

Ronald Koeman's other recognised right-back Sergino Dest has only just overcome some niggling issues as well, but the up-and-coming Oscar Mingueza can also deputise on that side of the defence if required.
