Super League roundup: Castleford Tigers slip up at Huddersfield Giants

Castleford Tigers miss the chance to move second in the Super League after losing 29-28 to Huddersfield, while the Bulls reach a neutral points tally.

Castleford Tigers missed the chance to move second in the Super League after losing 29-28 to Huddersfield Giants.

Daryl Clark's converted try on 72 minutes looked to have done enough to earn the Tigers at least a point at the John Smith's Stadium this afternoon, but Danny Brough snatched that point away in the dying minutes with a drop goal to give Huddersfield the victory.

Meanwhile, Widnes Vikings remain five points adrift of leaders Leeds Rhinos after winning 34-29 away to Hull Kingston Rovers.

Kevin Brown registered a hat-trick in the victory, while Jack Owens, David Allen and Jon Clarke also touched down for the Vikings as Widnes stay fifth in the table.

Elsewhere, Bradford Bulls reached a neutral points tally courtesy of a 34-28 triumph over Warrington Wolves at the Provident Stadium.

The Bulls, who were slapped with a six-point deduction following a collapsed takeover bid in February, hit six tries in the win, with Adrian Purtell scoring two of them as his side reached the zero-point mark.
