West Ham United are reportedly ready to join the race to sign West Bromwich Albion forward Salomon Rondon during the summer transfer window.

West Bromwich Albion forward Salomon Rondon has allegedly emerged as a transfer target for West Ham United.

With the Baggies being relegated from the Premier League, a release clause of £16.5m has been activated in Rondon's contract and it is expected to lead to a number of offers for the Venezuelan's signature.

Watford and Cardiff City have already been linked with an approach but according to The Mirror, West Ham could enter the race to sign the 28-year-old.

The Hammers have just appointed Manuel Pellegrini as the club's new manager, and the Chilean has previously worked with Rondon during their time at Malaga.

The East London outfit are well stocked for forwards, but doubts currently remain over the futures of Andy Carroll and Javier Hernandez.

Marko Arnautovic played as a lone striker for much of this season, but the Austrian international could potentially revert back to the flank under Pellegrini.
