West Ham United tie 18-year-old Blair Turgott down to a two-year contract at Upton Park.

Youngster Blair Turgott has committed his future to West Ham United by signing a new two-year contract with the club.

The 18-year-old's previous deal had been due to expire in the summer and recent reports had claimed that the Hammers may consider allowing the attacker to leave Upton Park on a free transfer.

However, having put pen to paper, Turgott has set his sights on forcing his way into Sam Allardyce's plans.

"It's going well at the moment and that's a great way to celebrate signing a new contract. It just shows that I've got to really push on from now and then the hard work starts again. But it's a good way to mark the new deal," he told the club's official website. "I've been at West Ham ever since I was little, so to sign for another two years is a great opportunity for me and just another stepping stone for me to push on in the future.

"West Ham is all I know, so this has been good for me, learning my trade here and trying to make myself a better player. Ultimately, this is the club that I want to be at and that's why I've signed the contract.

"I thank the management staff for giving me the opportunity to show what I'm about and hopefully in these two years I can repay the favour and show what type of player I am and hopefully push on from there."

Turgott, who was on loan at Bradford City during their run to the League Cup final, scored a hat-trick during the West Ham development team's 3-1 win over Queens Park Rangers earlier today.
