Valenciennes snatch draw against Reims

Valenciennes stay bottom of Ligue 1 despite snatching a late draw against Reims.

Eloge Enza Yamissi scored a last-minute equaliser to earn Valenciennes a 1-1 draw against Reims in Ligue 1 on Saturday.

Prince Oniangue had given the visitors the lead in the clash at Stade du Hainaut, but both sides were forced to settle for a point.

The away side went ahead on the half-hour mark when Oniangue found himself unmarked on the penalty spot from a corner to powerfully head the ball into the bottom corner.

The hosts nearly found an instant response when Mathieu Dossevi set up Opa Nguette, but his shot was saved in the bottom corner by Nicolas Penneteau.

Anthony Weber had the chance to double Reims' lead just a couple of minutes later, but he put his effort wide following Gaetan Charbonnier's headed knock-down from the corner.

However, Valenciennes rescued a point in the final minute of the match when Enza Yamissi tapped home at the far post following a low ball across the face of goal.

Valenciennes remain rooted to the bottom of Ligue 1 and are three points from safety, while Reims climb up to eighth.
