The visitors made the brighter start of the two teams, with Alberto Aquilani's looping header landing on the roof of the Turin club's net.

Minutes later Juan Cuadrado went on goal himself but failed to get his shot past Jean-Francois Gillet between the Torino posts.

Torino defender Kamil Glik had to be substituted on the half-hour mark after he momentarily lost consciousness following a clash of heads with Luca Toni.

Eight minutes later Aquilani was forced off the pitch with a muscle injury.

Torino went into the break 1-0 up after Alessio Cerci slotted Danilo D`Ambrosio's cross in off the underside of the crossbar in the 40th minute.

Things went from bad to worse for the Viola when moments later Toni had to be replaced, before Mati Fernandez's shot from close range went just wide.

Cerci could have doubled his side's advantage just seven minutes after the half-time interval, but saw his attempt on the Fiorentina goal saved by Emiliano Viviano.

Minutes later Facundo Roncaglia shot over the Torino crossbar and on the hour mark Gonzalo Rodríguez's header from Borja Valero's cross just went wide.

Then on the 63rd minute Haris Seferovic turned Manuel Pasqual's cross towards the Torino goal but saw his effort come off the post.

Two minutes later Adem Ljajic's attempt from distance was saved by Gillet.

Fiorentina eventually equalised in the 74th minute when D'Ambrosio's challenge on Cuadrado saw the referee award the visitors a penalty.

Rodriguez stepped up to take the spot kick and made no mistake from 12 yards.

Two minutes later Torino went 2-1 up, as Valter Birsa shot home from a difficult angle from long range.

There was yet more drama to come in Turin as with six minutes of normal time remaining, Mounir El Hamdaoui made it 2-2 with a right-footed shot from the right side of the box.
