Tottenham Hotspur eye Nick Pope as Hugo Lloris replacement?

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly eyeing up Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope as a potential replacement for club captain Hugo Lloris.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly eyeing up Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope as a potential replacement for club captain Hugo Lloris.

Lloris, who has only a year remaining on his current contract with Spurs, has recently been criticised after a few mistakes made in matches this month.

The Daily Mail reports that Pope, who is valued in the region of £30m, is at the top of Tottenham's wish list of potential candidates to succeed the Frenchman, while the England international is also admired by West Ham United.

Pope, who joined Burnley from Charlton Athletic in 2016, has developed into one of the Premier League's most consistent goalkeepers and has forced his way into Gareth Southgate's England squad, winning four senior caps.

The 28-year-old's current contract at Burnley expires in 2023, although it does include an option for an additional year.

Pope has made 24 Premier League appearances so far this campaign, keeping nine clean sheets for Sean Dyche's side, who sit 15th in the table.
