Tottenham Hotspur attacker Lucas Moura, who will leave the club when his contract expires this summer, is reportedly attracting interest from Sevilla.

Sevilla are reportedly weighing up a move for Tottenham Hotspur attacker and soon-to-be free agent Lucas Moura.

The Brazilian is confirmed to be leaving the Lilywhites when his contract expires at the end of the season, bringing an end to a mixed five-and-a-half-year stay in North London.

A troublesome tendon injury has restricted Lucas to just 18 senior appearances in all competitions this term, during which he has failed to register a goal or assist.

With Dejan Kulusevski, Richarlison, Arnaut Danjuma and Son Heung-min also battling for starts out wide, Lucas has not made a single Premier League start this season, making all 14 of his top-flight appearances off the bench.

The former Paris Saint-Germain attacker will celebrate his 31st birthday in August, but despite his advancing years and fitness problems, he is not expected to be short of offers.

According to Estadio Deportivo - via Fichajes - Sevilla have emerged as contenders to sign Lucas on a free transfer when he bids farewell to Tottenham.

Palanganas director of football Monchi apparently failed with an attempt to bring Lucas to Sevilla in the past, but the door has now re-opened as the Brazil international prepares to leave the Lilywhites.

Lucas's high salary could potentially harm Sevilla's efforts to bring him to the club, but the Europa League finalists are said to view him as a worthwhile investment given his experience.

Sevilla have dipped into the North London market over the past couple of years to bring Erik Lamela and Bryan Gil to the club, signing the former permanently in 2021 and striking a six-month loan deal for Gil.

The duo combined for Sevilla's crucial second goal in their Europa League semi-final second-leg win over Juventus last week, with Gil crossing for Lamela to head home in the fifth minute of extra time.

Lamela's header sealed a 3-2 aggregate win for Sevilla, who will meet Roma in the 2022-23 Europa League final as they seek a record-extending seventh triumph in the competition.

Tottenham forked out £24.7m to prise Lucas away from PSG in January 2018, and the 30-year-old has contributed 38 goals and 27 assists from 220 appearances for the Lilywhites in all competitions.

Lucas memorably scored a hat-trick in the second leg of Tottenham's Champions League semi-final with Ajax in 2019, sending Spurs through to the final thanks to a 3-2 win in Amsterdam.

The ex-Sao Paulo starlet came off the bench for his final home game for Tottenham against Brentford at the weekend, but he could not inspire a late turnaround as Ryan Mason's side lost 3-1.

Lucas is set to make his farewell appearance for Tottenham in Sunday's clash with Leeds United, where Spurs must better Aston Villa's result against Brighton & Hove Albion to finish seventh and qualify for next year's Europa Conference League.
