Pierluigi Gollini addresses reported Tottenham Hotspur interest

Pierluigi Gollini suggests that he would not be open to leaving Atalanta BC this summer despite reported interest from Tottenham Hotspur.

Pierluigi Gollini has suggested that he would not be open to leaving Atalanta BC during this summer's transfer window despite reported interest from Tottenham Hotspur.

Jose Mourinho's side have allegedly identified the 25-year-old as a potential replacement for Hugo Lloris, who has struggled for consistency over the last 12 months.

However, Gollini, who spent time with Manchester United during his youth career, has insisted that he is happy at Atalanta and would not be open to a summer exit.

"Other than the fact [the market] will be very influenced by the current situation, I have never thought about it, let alone now: it would be a lack of respect to Atalanta and Bergamo. Being appreciated is a pleasure, but it does not trigger certain feelings with me," Gollini told Gazzetta dello Sport.

"I feel very close to the Atalanta family, and even more to Bergamo right now. I don't choose between Italy and England: I choose Bergamo. It is the right thing and the one I feel."

Gollini, who represented Aston Villa between 2016 and 2018, has kept seven clean sheets in 30 appearances for Atalanta during the 2019-20 campaign.
