Chris Morgan hails Sheffield United players' "character"

Sheffield United caretaker-manager Chris Morgan praises his players' "spirit" and "character" for their performance against Coventry City on Sunday.

Sheffield United caretaker manager Chris Morgan has dismissed concerns over the players' commitment.

The 35-year-old, who is in temporary charge of the Blades since the sacking of David Weir last week, believes that his side's second-half performance against Coventry City in League One on Sunday showed how much they want to return to winning ways.

"In the second half against Coventry City, the players showed that they have got spirit," he told reporters at a press conference.

"When you are at the bottom of the league or near the bottom of the league, everybody question the players' desires and the players' qualities, people question everything.

"We are where we are through not getting results and not through lack of wanting or not trying. [Against Coventry] We showed a lot of character and a lot of guts, and were a lot better with the ball as well."

United, who are currently at the foot of the table, were 3-0 down in the 49th minute, but scored twice in the final 30 minutes to reduce the losing margin to 3-2.
