Ross County sign former Netherlands Under-21 striker Alex Schalk

Ross County snap up former Netherlands Under-21 striker Alex Schalk on a free transfer until the end of the season, subject to international clearance.

Ross County have signed former Netherlands Under-21 striker Alex Schalk until the end of the season, subject to international clearance.

The 23-year-old arrived on trial with the Scottish Premiership club last month following his release from Go Ahead Eagles in the second tier of Dutch football.

Schalk, who has also played for NAC Breda, scored four goals in 25 games for Go Ahead before leaving in the August transfer window.

He is expected to provide competition for Liam Boyce, Brian Graham and Craig Curran, who has been missing in recent weeks with a head injury.
