Real Madrid will reportedly contemplate whether to allow Gareth Bale and James Rodriguez to leave the Bernabeu for free during the next transfer window.

Real Madrid are reportedly willing to give thought to allowing Gareth Bale and James Rodriguez to leave for free during the next transfer window.

Despite their status on the worldwide scene, the duo have previously been made available with Real looking to reduce their wage bill as soon as possible.

Given their high income, the respective price tags have been debated, with interested teams reluctant to pay big money on top of committing to meeting their wage demands.

However, according to the Daily Mail, club officials are open to removing a transfer fee, providing that they can successfully move both players on to new clubs.

Amid the financial implications of the coronavirus pandemic, La Liga president Javier Tebas outlined earlier this week that Spanish teams, most notably Real and Barcelona, needed to cut costs before next season.

That will inevitably lead to the two clubs having to reduce their playing squads in the coming months.
