Nigel Adkins praises Reading team spirit

Nigel Adkins believes that his Reading side can enjoy the second half of the Championship campaign following victory against Watford at Vicarage Road.

Reading manager Nigel Adkins has praised his side's togetherness and believes that the club can enjoy the second half of the Championship season.

The Royals went into their game against Watford at Vicarage Road on the back of three straight away defeats and no victory in their last four league games.

An early Kaspars Gorkks goal was enough to seal the win for Adkins's men, however, and the former Southampton manager is confident that his side can now push on in the coming months.

"Obviously the form over Christmas with the results going against us wasn't ideal," Adkins told the club's official website.

"The resolve that the players have gone and demonstrated again in the second half today has shown the togetherness of everybody, the desire to work hard and that started with the front two going all the way through the team.

"We're really looking forward and we've got to enjoy the second half of the season. We're back on track for the playoff positions with 21 games to go and we're really going to enjoy the second half of the season."

Reading's league campaign continues with the visit of Bolton Wanderers next Saturday.
