Queens Park Rangers winger Shaun Wright-Phillips admits that it felt "amazing" to make his first Premier League appearance of the season in the win over Sunderland.

Queens Park Rangers winger Shaun Wright-Phillips has admitted that it felt "amazing" to make his first Premier League appearance of the season in the win over Sunderland.

Wright-Phillips came off the bench to help QPR claim their first away victory of the campaign, and he believes that the team are prepared for the battle to avoid relegation under caretaker boss Chris Ramsey, who is expected to manage the side until the end of the season.

"It was definitely worth the wait," the 33-year-old told the club's official website. "It was a massive team performance, and it was for the fans, especially those that have been to every away game and seen us lose week after week.

"I thought the boys were outstanding. Each and every one of us put our bodies on the line and delivered the gameplan.

"It was amazing to get some game time. I was a bit anxious in the first five minutes, but once I got into the game I felt good out there."

Wright-Phillips had made just 14 appearances under Harry Redknapp in the last two seasons.
