Half-Time Report: MK Dons hold out against Queens Park Rangers

Queens Park Rangers miss chances to score as they go in level at half time against MK Dons.

Queens Park Rangers have reached half time on level terms with MK Dons after an opening 45 minutes which has seen the Championship newboys withstand concerted pressure.

The Hoops, who failed to breach Sheffield Wednesday's defence in midweek, were almost ahead after seven minutes as Daniel Toszer picked out Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, but the forward's effort was saved by David Martin.

Moments later, the former Liverpool stopper was called into action again as he denied Tjarron Chery after he was teed up by Massimo Luongo.

Midway through the half, Nedum Onuoha tried to force the issue as his shot was blocked before Chery set up another opportunity for Matt Phillips, who guided his effort wide of the post.

The visitors' only shot of note in the first half came after Robert Hall tried a speculative effort from 35 yards, but Robert Green watched his drive sail wide.

Clint Hill then saw a header flash wide from Phillips's corner before Karl Henry's shot was closed down by the Dons defence.

Luongo then produced another cross into the area, towards Emmanuel-Thomas, who failed to hit the target as Karl Robinson's men stayed on level terms.
