Half-Time Report: Paris Saint-Germain wasteful against Nice

Paris Saint-Germain fail to take any of their excellent first-half chances as midtable Nice hold them to a 0-0 scoreline after 45 minutes at the Allianz Arena.

Paris Saint-Germain wasted several excellent chances as they failed to break down Nice in a goalless first half at the Allianz Riviera tonight.

The runaway Ligue 1 leaders have won six games on the spin to move 10 points clear of fellow big spenders Monaco at the top of the table.

However, they did not steamroller midtable Nice as many expected them to in the opening 45 minutes, although they had the opportunities to establish a comfortable half-time lead.

Laurent Blanc's side could only register three shots on target from their nine attempts on goal, with Marquinhos, Javier Pastore and Ezequiel Lavezzi guilty of rash finishing from inside of the box.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic did force Nice goalkeeper David Ospina into two good saves from close range, while Thiago Silva had a header from Lavezzi's cross kept out in the final minute before the break.

Nice, who are 11th in the table, were more accurate but were restricted to efforts from distance as Didier Digard, Mathieu Bodmer and Valentin Eysseric all tested Salvatore Sirigu from outside of the area.
