Derby County hit five goals past Millwall

Derby County fire five goals past Millwall in this afternoon's Championship fixture at The Den.

Derby County have earned their third straight away league win of the season after thrashing 10-man Millwall 5-1 at The Den.

The visitors took the lead nine minutes into the game when Buxton rose highest to head home a Jamie Ward cross.

Minutes later Derby created another opening but Craig Bryson's effort from Johnny Russell's pull-back was blocked by Shittu, with keeper David Forde able to claim the ball.

Scott McDonald had Millwall's best opportunity when he curled wide for the home side before Craig Bryson fired home from long range to extend Derby's lead at the end of the half.

Millwall's hopes of getting back into the game were dealt a blow when Shane Lowry was sent off for challenge a on Will Hughes five minutes after the interval.

Craig Bryson soon made Derby's numerical advantage count by adding his side's third of the match when he scored from another long-range strike.

Debutant Martyn Waghorn pulled a goal back for the home side but Craig Bryson quickly restored Derby's three-goal lead by firing in a low strike to complete his first career hat-trick.

Mason Bennett scored the away side's fifth goal of the game three minutes from time to extend Millwall's winless run in the Championship this season.
