Half-Time Report: Chris Wood opener gives Millwall advantage

Chris Wood's goal from close range gives Millwall a half-time lead over Huddersfield Town.

Chris Wood has given Millwall a half-time lead despite Huddersfield Town dominating the contest at The New Den.

Huddersfield started the better of the two sides but failed to make the most of their chances early on, with both Lee Novak and Jermaine Beckford wasting opportunities from good positions.

The visitors looked the team most likely to open the scoring and they were nearly rewarded when Jack Hunt's deflected strike almost found the bottom corner of the Millwall goal.

Despite Huddersfield's dominance, it was the hosts who took the lead with their first real attack of the game.

Darius Henderson drifted out wide and delivered a superb cross that allowed Wood to easily tap in from close range.

Beckford had the chance to equalise on the stroke of half-time but he curled his shot wide of the target from the edge of the box.
