Half-Time Report: Millwall in charge at The New Den

Three early goals put Millwall in charge of their Championship meeting with Birmingham City at The New Den.

Three goals in eight minutes have given Millwall a comfortable 3-1 lead over Birmingham City at The New Den.

The home side were rewarded for their early pressure with a goal from Chris Wood after a Darius Henderson header found the forward in space at the back post.

Birmingham struggled to recover following the goal and fell further behind just three minutes later when they failed to clear the ball inside the box, allowing Chris Taylor to fire in Milllwall's second of the game.

The visitors looked in danger of conceding whenever Liam Feeney was on the ball for the Lions and Lee Clark witnessed his side gift another goal when the winger's cross was allowed to reach Wood, who had the simple task of tapping in from close range.

In a rare Birmingham attack, the visitors pulled a goal back before the break, with Marlon King finishing well from a few yards out.
