Report: Atalanta BC to re-sign Middlesbrough midfielder Marten de Roon

Middlesbrough and Netherlands midfielder Marten de Roon will reportedly re-sign for Italian club Atalanta BC for a fee of £13m.

Middlesbrough have reportedly accepted a bid of around £13m from Atalanta BC for midfielder Marten de Roon.

The 26-year-old joined Boro from the Italian side last summer in a £12m move ahead of their return to the Premier League, but has been linked with a return this summer.

According to Sky Sports News, the Teessiders will allow De Roon, who started last Saturday's 1-0 Championship defeat at Wolverhampton Wanderers, to head back to Italy.

The Dutchman is one of several high-profile players who have left Boro following the club's relegation back to the second tier, with Gaston Ramirez, Viktor Fischer, Cristhian Stuani, Brad Guzan, James Husband and Alex Baptiste also departing the Riverside Stadium.

De Roon, who made his senior debut for the Netherlands last year, played 33 times last season for Boro in the top flight, scoring four goals.
