Manchester United are reportedly prepared to pay off Alexis Sanchez and Marcos Rojo this summer to make a saving in the long term.

Manchester United have reportedly already put plans in place to get rid of a number of flops at the end of the season.

Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admitted last week that a big summer awaits as he needs to clear out the deadwood.

Alexis Sanchez and Marcos Rojo are two of the high-earning players United are working hard to offload, and The Sun claims that the South American duo could be paid off.

The report indicates that United are scrambling together cash to cancel the pair's contracts, which have three and two years left to run on them respectively.

A United source is quoted as saying: "There's a few players that want to go but they will need paying off to get them out.

"It won't come cheap and it will affect certain things in the transfer market. There are plans already been put in place. The club are setting aside a contingency fund to get certain players moving out in the summer.

"Rojo only signed a new contract last summer after running down the previous one. He knows he is in a strong position."

Rojo is owed £11.5m by United, but a £6m severance package will allegedly be enough to send him on his way.
