Brighton & Hove Albion captain Lewis Dunk believes they would be able to cope if Manchester United-linked Yves Bissouma were to leave the club in the summer.

Bissouma, 25, has been a key midfielder for the Seagulls since joining from Lille in 2018, making 121 appearances across all competitions.

The Mali international, who has just over 12 months remaining on his contract, is understood to have caught the eye of a number of Premier League clubs, including Man United, Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa.

Brighton are unwilling to let Bissouma leave the Amex Stadium unless they receive an offer in the region of £50m, but if they were to sell the midfielder this summer, Dunk feels that the Seagulls already have a ready-made replacement in the form of Moises Caicedo.

"I hope we keep the team together and keep pushing on. But we have the depth in the squad to fill in and boys have stepped up," the 30-year-old told the Daily Mirror.

"If the time comes and boys move on, like Ben White last year, I was buzzing for him. We lost one but we have other people as backup to come in and perform. I think it shows because Moises Caicedo has waited for his opportunity and the last few games he has been outstanding. I think that just shows what we have got at this club.

"We have great work ethic and togetherness on the training pitch which gives us our foundations. That is the only reason he has been able to perform like that because we work so hard on the training pitch."

Caicedo spent the first half of this season on loan with Belgian outfit Beerschot Wilrijk, but since returning to Brighton in January, the 20-year-old midfielder has started in each of the last five Premier League matches for Graham Potter's side.
